Two Dome Rotating Railcar Hazmat Training Prop
Train crews on railroad tank car dome leaks with the car upright or rolled over up to 100 degrees, using a DOT 112 High Pressure Dome and a DOT 117 General Service Dome.
Training Modes & Remediations
High Pressure Dome (DOT 112)
Liquid line valve leak: isolate and secure the leak source
Vapor line leak: isolate and secure the leak source
Pressure relief device leak: cap or isolate the relief valve as appropriate
Valve open from vibration: close the valve to mitigate
Valve loose in its mounting: tighten the mounting hardware to mitigate
General Service Dome (DOT 117)
Eduction valve leak: close or secure the valve to mitigate
Air connection valve leak: close or secure the valve to mitigate
Visible vapor leaks: simulated using a water and compressed air mixture
Setup and Transport
The Two Dome Rotating Railcar is manually operated and requires a user-provided source of water and compressed air. It ships fully assembled, can be offloaded onto a concrete surface, and is fully operational within minutes. Weighing a fraction of an actual railcar, it transports easily on a standard lowboy trailer.
